Our President Kim Patton Manning along with her husband John have been awarded the 2026 Sarasota County Heritage Award in the category of Historical Research – Publications for their book Sarasota Trivia Game by Kim, recognized by the Awards Committee as “an outstanding contribution to the research, interpretation, and public understanding of Sarasota County’s history.”

Preserve Your Family Records at the History Center’s New Memory Lab!

Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources has introduced the Memory Lab, a free do-it-yourself digitization station designed to convert invaluable family records into digital files. Video tapes become brittle and break. Photographs fade. Documents can suffer water or pest damage. Convert your precious family memories to digital. These digital files can then be stored on stable modern devices or a cloud storage solution of your choice, which makes them much easier to preserve and share with family and friends. More info HERE.
